Psychological Horror ‘The Medium’ Shows Off 14-Minutes of Gameplay in New Video
Bloober Team released a new video for their psychological horror adventure, The Medium, coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC-via Steam on January 28, 2021.
The video is 14-minutes long and follows the game’s protagonist, Marianne, as she explores the game’s duel settings of reality and the spirit world. This is shown in a split-screen layout to give players a look at how each world can be explored in a unique way. During gameplay, players will find useful ways to progress through both settings, the developer shares, “a third of the action taking place in the real world, a third solely in the spirit world and a third in both realms simultaneously.”
During gameplay, players will assume Marianne’s role, a medium hounded by visions living and interacting across two worlds, the real and the spirit realm. Everything needs to be questioned during gameplay. Players need to view events from two different angles, both of which contain scary themes.
The game will be composed by Akira Yamaoka, who is known for the Silent Hill series. This is in hopes to create an atmosphere for both of the words within the game.
Currently, it seems like The Medium will be exclusive to Xbox Series X and PC. The team has not announced if it will be coming to other platforms, but they seem to be focused on Microsoft’s next-gen console from their messaging.
