This is more of an unorthodox entry that is a spinoff taking place in a brand new environment with a new cast and even combat mechanics. Unlike mainline Trails games, known for their turn-based combat, The Legend of Nayuta is actually action-oriented, vaguely the same style as the Zwei duology, one of Falcom’s other series.
In this title, players take control of Nayuta, who dreams of the outside world and what lies beyond the confines of his home. Soon after reconvening with his friends and other denizens on his island home, Nayuta ends up saving a mysterious fairy by the name of Noi. This fairy-like girl asks for Nayuta’s help in recovering something stolen from her, and this journey takes him to the stretches of existence he has only ever dreamed of.
The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is releasing for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store and Steam.
