The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Anime Airing in 2022

Nihon Falcom has announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel will be receiving an anime that will be airing in 2022. This information originates from a recent Famitsu article.

The following summation of information is sourced from Gematsu’s translations:

“The original series depicted the story of protagonist Rean Schwarzer and his companions throughout four titles set in the giant military nation of Erebonia, but the anime series will depict a story based on the original and set in the western part of the Zemurian continent.”

Based on this wording, the anime will likely be adapting events based on the first Trails of Cold Steel title.

Additionally, this project will be spearheaded by 4 global partners; them being:

  • Funimation Global Group
  • SYOU
  • NADA Holdings

No details regarding who will be animating this project were announced, nor were any teasers or the like yet shared.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is the 6th game of the Trails series, following protagonist Rean Schwarzer as he attends Thors Military Academy. He becomes a member of Class VII and befriends the other members of the class as they all learn more of the intricate affairs of the empire as well as political conflict throughout their field studies.
