The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie Reveals VR Support, Save Data Bonuses & More

Publisher NIS America has shared new details regarding the upcoming localized release of the Nihon Falcom-developed JRPG, The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie.

Firstly, the VR support present in the game’s Japanese version will be included in the Western release, consisting of the “Beachside Vay-Cay” (included in-game) and “SSS Summer Splash” (separately purchased) scenarios. These events are supplemental and comprise bonding episodes and minigames. Still, they can also be enjoyed sans VR usage.

Unfortunately, VR support will only be possible in the PlayStation 4 and PC releases of the title, not PlayStation 5. Additional information regarding VR implementation will be shared in the near future.

Secondly, carry-over bonuses were discussed. NIS America revealed that due to the PlayStation 4 save data of Trails into Reverie not being compatible with the PlayStation 5 version, owners of the latter version will freely obtain all carry-over bonuses. Further, there is a planned upgrade path from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, but as just stated, save data won’t be included.

This title takes place after Trails of Cold Steel IV and features a new mechanic called Zapping that has players switch between playable protagonists and parties at a moment’s notice. The Trails of Cold Steel protagonist, Rean Schwarzer, Crossbell protagonist, Lloyd Bannings, and the brand new character C, are the leaders of these three parties. They face their own unique threats before eventually uniting against something especially grand.
