During today’s Falcom Anniversary live stream celebrating the developer’s 40-year presence, several titles that have remained Japanese exclusive have finally been confirmed to be receiving official western localization.
One of these titles getting localized by publisher NIS America is The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie. This game is the latest entry of the Trails series, taking place after the events of Trails of Cold Steel IV. Players take control of 3 simultaneously ongoing story paths, with Rean Schwarzer, Lloyd Bannings, and the mysterious C being the leaders of each path.
Hearkening back to Trails in the Sky the 3rd, players will find themselves exploring the Reverie Corridor, which contains a slew of content such as recruitable party members, minigames, and randomly generated dungeons. The strategical Brave Order mechanic makes its return alongside the new United Front system utilizing the power of the entire team to destroy foes.
Side episodes viewable from the Reverie Corridor also serve to flesh out the characterizations and relationships of the massive, varied cast.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is releasing for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via the Epic Games Store in 2023.
