The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki Will Have an Action and Turn-Based Battle System

Famitsu released details on the development progress of The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki, the newest entry of the long-running JRPG series developed by Falcom.

The publication revealed that players will be able to switch between two different styles during battles at any time, Action and Command. When using the action system, players can attack enemies multiple times using the Circle button. Characters will utilize their equipment during these fights so a sword will cause close range damage and a gun will be better used as long-range attackers. By pressing X, players will be able to dodge.

Command style will feature turn-based action where players can strategize action as they normally would aside from a few updates to the menu options. It was also revealed that no matter which style you choose, you’ll have access to all the mechanics and features of each character.

Further, we got a look at the field movement where players can dash around with R1 and switch between targeting enemies using R3. There is an s-Breaker gauge that fills ups, which is similar to S-Crafting. Pressing R2 will unleash the S-Breaker.

The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki is currently in development for unannounced systems. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on its development.
