The Binding of Isaac Prequel ‘The Legend of Bum-bo’ Releasing for Switch, PS5 & Xbox Series X|S Late June 2022

Publisher Nicalis has announced that the prequel to The Binding of Isaac, The Legend of Bum-bo, will be digitally releasing on June 29, 2022, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for $19.99. This title follows Bum-bo, “a mushmouthed vagrant who loses his precious coin to an unknown thief.” And, of course, Bum-bo goes on a journey to regain that coin.

Gameplay comprises turn-based tile-matching combat where players will also find spells and items that make Bum-bo stronger. Additionally, there are procedurally generated levels and unlockable characters, similar to The Binding of Isaac, also created by Edmund McMillen. Further, this game intersects with that aforementioned title’s world in unforeseen ways.

Players can look forward to the following inclusions:

  • 125+ unique items that can be modified and upgraded
  • 80+ unique trinkets with passive abilities
  • 7 playable Bum-bos, each with their own unique abilities
  • 13 bosses
  • 40+ enemy types

The Legend of Bum-bo is currently available on Steam via SteamGOG, and the Epic Games Store.
