Long-Awaited Sequel ‘The Last of Us Part II’ Gets Release Date

During Sony’s streamed State of Play presentation, the publisher announced that the long-awaited Naughty Dog action-adventure The Last of Us Part II will launch on PlayStation 4 on February 21, 2020.

The Last of Us Part II puts players in the role of an older Ellie who is out for revenge. A lot has happened since the conclusion of The Last of Us and players will be able to experience how humanity is adapting to this world years after the outbreak. Reprising their role as Joel and Ellie are Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, respectively. However, up until today, it was rumored that Joel might have been a ghost.

The trailer shown today shows a more open world for players to explore along with some additional dangerous environments that Ellie will find herself in. The clickers have returned and are still a threat and winter has befallen the group. Ellie finds herself investigating a house where she sees something that she wasn’t expecting. She is fueled by revenge and nothing seems like it will stand in her way. However, she will not be alone as Joel has returned to help her.

What an awesome turn of events for fans of the duo to see them back together for another adventure. Still, it doesn’t seem like this enemy is going to go down without a fight.
