The Last of Us Part 1 Announced For PC & PS5; September 2022 Release For the Latter

A trailer for the long-rumored native PlayStation 5 remake of The Last of Us has been unveiled, with a PC release also confirmed to be on the horizon. The game’s page states:

“Enjoy a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat.”

This remake is also titled The Last of Us Part 1, referring to the fact that its sequel now exists. The title is releasing for PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022, and for PC at a currently unspecified date. You can view the trailer for this upcoming release via PlayStation Direct. I’m having trouble understanding the point of this revamped version considering how recent the PlayStation 4 remaster is, but at least PC players will be able to experience this.

Thanks to Nibellion on Twitter for spotting the game page description.
