The King of Fighters XV Season 2, Character Refinement Patch & Shingo Yabuki Joining Next Week; 5 More Characters Teased
SNK has announced that Season 2 of their latest 2D fighter, The King of Fighters XV, will start on January 17, 2023. As part of this launch, fighter Shingo Yabuki will join the fray alongside a substantial character refinement patch,
Further, the following characters have been confirmed:
- Kim Kaphwan – Spring 2023
- Sylvia Paula Paula – Summer 2023
- NAJD – Summer 2023
Moreover, two unknown characters will join in the Fall and Winter of 2023. The graphic at the end of the trailer also teases that Cross Platform play will arrive at some point during this Spring or Summer.

The King of Fighters XV features vibrant graphics that allow the team to be a bit more playful with the roster and telegraph movesets easier, which is needed for such a technical fighting game as this. In addition, the title features a main campaign that revolves around Shun’ei and how he acquired his mysterious powers at a young age. Other character stories are also featured.
SNK has hyped up this game’s release with several character reveals and trailers showcasing their varied movesets, aesthetics, and music. It is clear that the team is dedicating all their workforce to making this fighter as qualitative as possible, even post-release with all of the DLC.
The King of Fighters XV is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows 10, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
