The King of Fighters XV Launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in Quarter 1 2022
The official SNK Global Twitter account has announced that The King of Fighters XV will be launching for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Windows 10, Steam, and the Epic Games Store in Quarter 1 of 2022.
The title was announced to be delayed last month because, according to producer Yasuyuki Oda, the COVID-19 impacted development significantly. As a result, the team decided to address quality first and foremost instead of putting out a title that was broken on release.
The King of Fighters XV features some colorful graphics that allow the team to be a bit more playful with the roster and telegraph movesets easier, which is needed for such a technical fighting game such as this. In addition, the game will feature a main campaign that revolves around Shun’ei and how he acquired his mysterious powers at a young age. The game will also have a story for other characters on the roster.
SNK has been amping up the hype for the game’s eventual release with several character reveals and trailers showcasing their varied movesets, aesthetics, and music. It is clear that the team is dedicating all their workforce to making this fighter as qualitative as possible, so hopefully, this delay proves to be fruitful.
