The Adorable Chris Joins the Roster of The King of Fighters XV in New Trailer
SNK released new gameplay from their upcoming fighter The King of Fighters XV, coming in later in 2021.
The trailer introduces Chris, who made his first appearance in The King of Fighters ’97. He’s a member of Team Orochi and has been brought back to life alongside Yashiro and Shermie. It’s unclear how this will play into the game’s Story Mode, but it seems like Chris has forgotten his Orochi heritage.
Chris’s fighting style utilizes acrobatic maneuvers to confuse enemies about how he will attack. However, he’s never really been a main character in the series. Hopefully, balance has been added here to make him a character that more people choose.
The King of Fighters XV features some colorful graphics that allow the team to be a bit more playful with the roster and telegraph movesets easier, which is needed for such a technical fighting game such as this. The game will feature a main campaign revolve around Shun’ei and how he acquired his mysterious powers at a young age. The game will also have a story for other characters on the roster.
The full character roster has yet to be announced, but each couple of days we see a new character. We’re still waiting for Mai’s trailer, just like the rest of you.
In case you missed it, check out Shun’ei, Meitenku, Iori, Mai Shiranui, Joe Higashi, Chizuru Kagura, Yuri Sakazaki, King, and Benimaru’s gameplay trailers.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the release of The King of Fighters XV. For now, enjoy the short trailer showing off Chris’s moveset and abilities below:
