SNK has announced that the definitive version of The King of Fighters XIII, titled The King of Fighters XIII Global Match, will host its first open beta test between June 5 at 7 PM PT and June 11 at 7 PM PT. Fans can anticipate rollback netcode functionality, which this test will try out for various types of players.
The King of Fighters XIII Global Match is planned to release for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, but the beta test will only occur on PlayStation platforms, including PlayStation 5. Perhaps a separate beta will be available for that platform at some point down the road.

The King of Fighters XIII was previously only available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, mobile devices, Arcade, and PC. The title was ambitious as it removed the Guard Attack, the Critical Counter, and the Clash System from the previous entry with the EX Mode, Hyper Drive Mode, and Drive Cancel, encouraging further combo variation and player experimentation. Regarding the story, this game takes place after The King of Fighters XI and concludes the third story arc initiated in The King of Fighters 2003.
