The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition on Steam Receives Update Adding Rollback Netcode and More

SNK Corporation announced that The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition on PC-via Steam has received a significant update.

First off, players enjoying the game through online play (which at this point should be the only people still playing) will find that the title now features rollback netcode. This is a must-have in the fighting game community at this point and makes all the difference when playing online matches.

Further, the update includes Online Lobbies that can hold up to nine players, with spectating modes available so players can watch their friends fight. The publisher added a line of thanks to those who participated in the 2nd Community Beta test to make this all possible. The feedback from players was a significant reason this update was released.

Additional, The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Final Edition OST is available now for download and features in the update on Steam. Players will find 63 tracks from across the series, including the original NeoGeo KOF ’98 soundtrack and The King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match! Edition music. The tracks have been newly remastered for your enjoyment.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any developments for SNK fighters, but let us know if you’re excited about this update.
