The Imperial Capital Burns: Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse Launches on Steam; A Prequel Following Takamura Yui

aNCHOR have launched The Imperial Capital Burns: Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse on PC via Steam with English support.

A prequel to the visual novel Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse, which follows Takamura Yui and her friends during their time as surface pilot cadets.

Originally a novel written as a special bonus for buyers of the full set of DVD/Blu-rays of the “Total Eclipse” anime, it was later adapted into a game, which we’re now making available on Steam! Follow the past of Takamura Yui and see what made her into the woman she was at the time of Total Eclipse.

In Kyoto, 1997, players embark on an immersive journey in The Imperial Capital Burns: Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse. As a new cadet at Yamayuri Girls’ Surface Pilot Academy, Takamura Yui’s story unfolds amidst cherry blossoms and the pride of a surface pilot. Her admiration for fellow student Yamashiro Kazusa adds complexity to her journey. In 1998, as the relentless BETA invasion reaches Kyoto, Yui and her comrades are thrust onto the battlefield, their fate uncertain.

The game’s world is marked by a prolonged struggle to save humanity from the BETA, extraterrestrial beings that surfaced on Mars in 1958 and relentlessly advanced towards Earth, nearly pushing humanity to extinction by 2001. Nations developed their tactical surface fighters, known as TSFs, to counter the BETA threat. However, containment efforts face limitations, leaving humanity teetering on the brink of destruction. The TSFs, humanoid weapons introduced in 1974, continually evolve through scientific advancements, with 3rd Generation Models representing the latest technology as of 2001. Players must navigate this high-stakes world, battling against overwhelming odds to ensure humanity’s survival.
