With the arrival of 2025, various Japanese game creators have been sharing notable statements via the Japanese outlet 4Gamer to hype up fans or temper expectations.

One standout statement comes from Kazutaka Kodaka from Too Kyo Games, saying that if the upcoming The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy doesn’t sell, the team is prepared to go bankrupt and retire.

    Kodaka’s High-Stakes Statement

In his statement, Kazutaka Kodaka, creator of Danganronpa, revealed just how crucial The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is to Too Kyo Games:

The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy will be released on April 24, 2025. We’ve created it using all of our company’s assets and loans, as it’s Too Kyo Games’ first original intellectual property. If it doesn’t sell, we’re prepared to go bankrupt and retire, but we’ve put everything into making something worthwhile, so please look forward to it!

While it’s unclear if Kodaka is exaggerating for dramatic effect, it’s evident that high expectations are riding on this title.

    Uchikoshi Teases More Titles

Kotaro Uchikoshi, known for the Zero Escape series, also hyped fans by confirming that:

Other Too Kyo-related games [in addition to The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy] will be released one after another in 2025. Please be sure to check them out!
