The House of the Dead: Remake Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC Next Week; PC Trailer Streamed

Forever Entertainment announced they will publish the MegaPixel Studio-developed on-rails shooter The House of the Dead: Remake on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on April 28, 2022.

Although the Switch version supports motion controls, it doesn’t look like that will be the case with these new console versions. However, the framerate and load time may be largely improved.

The House of the Dead: Remake features the true original game released in 1997 with updated graphics and controls. Players can play through the entirety of the game with local 2-player multiplayer, with online play not available.

Further, the game features multiple endings and an added photo mode so you can take pictures of your favorite demons. This new Switch version has added achievements along with an armory full of unlockable weapons. A new game mode has also been added where players must fight off hordes of the undead.

The House of the Dead: Remake is a remade version of the game introduced in 1997 on the arcade platform. A classic arcade rail-shooter receives a whole new entourage and gameplay changes to suit modern gaming standards.

The House of the Dead series has spawned multiple sequels and prequels on both console and arcade. However, we haven’t received any new entries on consoles since The House of the Dead: Overkill and The Typing of the Dead: Overkill in 2013.
