The House of the Dead: Remake Launches in April as Switch Exclusive; Extra Features Added Photo Mode, Unlockables, and More

Forever Entertainment announced they will publish the MegaPixel Studio-developed on-rails shooter The House of the Dead: Remake on Nintendo Switch on April 7, 2022.

The game will feature the true original game released in 1997 with updated graphics and controls. Players can play through the entirety of the game with local 2-player multiplayer, but an online mode has not been revealed.

Further, the game features multiple endings and an added photo mode so you can take pictures of your favorite demons. This new Switch version has added achievements along with an armory full of unlockable weapons. A new game mode has also been added where players must fight off hordes of the undead.

The House of the Dead: Remake is a remade version of the game introduced in 1997 on the arcade platform. A classic arcade rail-shooter receives a whole new entourage and gameplay changes to suit modern gaming standards.

The House of the Dead series has spawned multiple sequels and prequels on both console and arcade. However, we haven’t received any new entries on consoles since The House of the Dead: Overkill and The Typing of the Dead: Overkill in 2013.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on the game’s release and if it’ll come to other platforms.
