Debt Repayment RPG ‘The Good Life’ announced for Nintendo Switch
In Nintendo’s March 17 Indie World Showcase, Japanese development team White Owls announced that The Good Life, a “debt repayment RPG,” will release on Nintendo Switch in 2020.
The Good Life was first announced back in 2018 when a Kickstarter campaign launched to fund the game. The game exceeded its ¥68,000,000 goal, raising ¥81,030,744. While initially only expected to release on Steam and PS4, the developers have since added Xbox One and Nintendo Switch to the list of platforms the game will be available on.
The Good Life follows Naomi, a journalist from New York who moves to Rainy Woods, Britain, the “happiest town in the world,” in order to pay off her debt. She does this by reporting the happenings of the town for a newspaper company that she works at. Everything seems normal about Rainy Woods at first, but Naomi soon learns that the town has a strange secret: at night, all of its inhabitants turn into cats and dogs.
According to an update from White Owls on the game’s Kickstarter page, the game is currently set to release in the second half of 2020.
The game looks to be one of the most unique games releasing this year, with players snapping strange photos, riding sheep, and transforming into cats and dogs.
