The Game Awards Reveals December 2022 Stream Date

The Game Awards has announced that its 9th annual show will occur on December 8, 2022, from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Executive producer and creator of the event, Geoff Keighley, provided the following statement regarding this event’s arrival:

“The Best Adaptation Award is a way for the gaming industry and its fans to tip its hat to creative work that authentically adapts and often adds lore and context to our favorite gaming franchises,” said Geoff Keighley, creator and executive producer of The Game Awards. “With so many game-inspired projects across entertainment, the time is right to honor excellence in adapting video game worlds to other mediums.”

The Game Awards Orchestra will also be returning, conducted by Lorne Balfe, alongside world premieres, updates, and more.

The event will be streamed worldwide across over 40 platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, and Twitter. Unfortunately, further details and specificities regarding the contents to be shown were not provided, but more information will assuredly be released as we get closer to December.

However, IMAX is collaborating with The Game Awards in select locations for those who wish to view the event from a more cinematic lens. More news about which locations will be chosen for these showings has not been yet shared, though.

UPDATE 12/8/2022: Keighley has announced that the event will last roughly 2.5 hours with streamlined content.
