The Final Story Update of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] Drops Silently Outside Japan

The final story update for Kingdom Hearts Union X [Cross] was released for the Japanese version of the game and nowhere else just over a week ago.

It has now gone live on English servers without a single notice or announcement.

And this didn’t go unnoticed by fans.

This update is the latter half of the two-part finale delayed due to circumstances likely involving the pandemic and other internal factors. However, the global release was further delayed with no communication whatsoever, despite the global servers playing catch-up to the Japanese servers. To the point, in fact, the second last story update was released both globally and in Japanese simultaneously.

For those not up to date with the title, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] is a prequel to the series as a whole, and alongside it confirming suspicions and answering questions for the franchise, it has also provided new ones connecting to the next arc of Kingdom Hearts.

The lack of fanfare for the conclusion is a shame considering how Union χ[Cross] ended. The conclusion to an eight-year-old story. It could have at least have it go out with a bang.

Anyway, have fun out there, English fans. This update is kicking us into the next arc of Kingdom Hearts, and knowing how the rest of the games have gone, this is sure to be a doozy.
