Bandai Namco announced they will publish the Supermassive Games-developed narrative-adventure The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, releasing in 2021 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC-via Steam.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is set in Iraq, 2003. Players are introduced to a CIA operative named Rachel King, who prepares for a raid on an underground chemical weapons facility in the Zagros Mountains. Upon arrival, the crew is ambushed by an enemy patrol led by Sergeant Salim Othman. As the fight breaks out, an earthquake opens sinkholes, and both sides are sent underground and trap.
However, they don’t seem to be the only ones there, and the survivors must navigate this underground temple for a way to escape. This also requires them to work together if they wish to make it out alive.
“We are thrilled to reveal this third game within The Dark Pictures Anthology. Like the previous stories, House of Ashes will bring a brand-new story and cast of characters to players, with its own unique twists and turns and a new threat for the characters to face. We can’t wait to share more details about the story!” said Pete Samuels, CEO of Supermassive Games.
The publisher released a trailer for the new game, which introduces characters and the setting. You can watch the reveal trailer below:
