The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes Teases Gameplay Ahead of May 27 Reveal

Bandai Namco released gameplay for the Supermassive Games-developed narrative-adventure The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, releasing in 2021 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC-via Steam.

The trailer provides a brief scene where a group of military officials have found themselves trapped in a tomb of some sort. However, it seems they aren’t the only ones locked in as something is killing their partners.

The full reveal will take place on May 27, 2021, at 9 am PT. Viewers will be introduced to the main characters along with the nightmare that they will have to fight against. Further, we hope to know more about the series and if this will be the last entry in the Anthology collection of narrative-driven horror games. We hope it isn’t.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is set in Iraq, 2003. Players are introduced to a CIA operative named Rachel King, who prepares for a raid on an underground chemical weapons facility in the Zagros Mountains. Upon arrival, the crew is ambushed by an enemy patrol led by Sergeant Salim Othman. As the fight breaks out, an earthquake opens sinkholes, and both sides are sent underground and trap.
