The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story Original Soundtrack Releasing Next Month; 3 Discs
Square Enix has announced that the upcoming The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story will be receiving an original soundtrack via the developer’s digital Japanese storefront. This release will include 3 discs for ¥3,520, and it’s planned for a May 25, 2022 shipment. We will update this article accordingly if a North American store listing becomes available, though considering how niche this title is, I genuinely don’t see that occurring.
This is a live-action mystery adventure being developed by h.a.n.d. Throughout this game, players witness the tragic tale of the Shijima family, who have experienced many familial deaths over the past 100 years. The protagonist is a mystery novelist named Haruka Kagami who utilizes her detective prowess to investigate the four deaths that have plagued this family’s history.
High-quality cinematography and live-action gameplay are at the forefront of the experience to immerse players in several eras of Japan. Nanami Sakuraba plays the protagonist, and Haruka Kagami and Yuta Hiraoka play the Shijima family’s second son, Eiji Shijima.
Those who purchase the game before release will receive a Behind the Scenes feature titled The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story and a mini soundtrack composed by Yuki Hayashi.
The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story is releasing for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam on May 12, 2022.
