inXile Entertainment announced that their fantasy RPG The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep will launch on PC on September 18 and is slated to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Mac, and Linux later this year.
The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep is said to be a return to the series’ roots and takes players to the world of Caith. The game features a single-player campaign with first-person exploration as well as party-based combat and puzzles. Players will recruit six renegades heroes who attempt to stand up to the dark powers that have corrupted the realm.
The gameplay in The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep finds players exploring maze-like dungeons, solving challenging riddles, and going on long quests. All with the danger of potential enemies around every corner.
The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep‘s story is written by Nathan Long (Wasteland 2), with music by Ged Grimes (Simple Mids).
The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows Deep is releasing in time for the 30th anniversary of The Bard’s Tale III: Thief of Fate, witch is pretty crazy for a series that comes up in conversation from time to time with older gamers that I know.
