Katsuhiro Harada, the current producer of the popular fighting game series Tekken, has recently announced that the latest entry in the franchise, Tekken 7, has sold over 9 million units worldwide. Further, with this sales record now added, the series has sold a cumulative total of 53 million units worldwide.

Congratulations to Harada, Bandai Namco, and the internal development teams for achieving such a significant milestone, and here’s hoping for a new Tekken in the near future.

You can view Harada’s tweet announcing this noteworthy development below:

Tekken 7 was released in 2015 and has seen regular updates in balances and new characters over the years. The series features an extensive roster of fighters that have players utilize 3D stages to take down opponents. Fighting in Tekken is known for its unique style of hard-hitting over-the-top characters while featuring refined combat systems.

Tekken 7 Definitive Edition comes with the entire game, the bonus character, Eliza, and all-season pass DLCs from 1-4, making this the one edition to rule them all. For those looking for a more streamlined version, an Originals Edition is available that includes the full game and 12 Tekken DLC characters, along with the New Frame Rate Data Feature.

Tekken 7 is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
