Tropical Open-World Adventure ‘Tchia’ Reveals Gameplay Overview Trailer with Director Commentary

IGN has shared a new gameplay overview trailer for the upcoming Awaceb-developed and published open-world adventure, Tchia. The title’s director, Phil Crifo, discusses various unique identifiers of the game, including its immense scale and cathartic sense of player freedom.

Phil emphasizes how players are not bound to specified paths and are able to climb all surfaces, utilize gravity and verticality in tandem to slide down slopes, and use a glider to break falls. Further, all foliage seen throughout the game is affected by physics, showcasing naturalism.

To encourage observation and heighten the child-like adventurous joy of getting lost in the wilderness, there is no player marker on the map. Additionally, with the addition of sailing, swimming, and a mechanic called Soul-Jumping that provides control over any animal or object in the world, this experience truly appears to be a delightful playground. Still, the protagonist will grant vocal hints about the current location she is at, so there is some basis of context.
