The multi-national mobile games developer and publisher Gamevil have announced that they’re planning for the western launch of their MMORPG Talion by starting in Australia.
First launching in Southeast Asia and Japan, Talion is a 3D open-world MMORPG that touts a huge character customization system and PvP battles between 2 teams of 20 people.
According to their press release, Gamevil is working to tailor their marketing and promotions to create a strong presence in the Australian MMORPG market. They’ve even set up local servers to ensure the best possible connection for players, a necessity considering Australia’s infamous internet quality.
A pre-registration campaign has also been initiated, rewarding new players who sign up with in-game gold and equipment. On top of this, Gamevil is also running a unique follower-based campaign which will reward all players with items when their collective follower count reaches 30,000. What makes this unique is that the collective followers are totaled from their Facebook page, Youtube channel, and Discord server. That is not a combination I have ever seen before.
The pre-registration page can be found here. Although the advertising is focused on launching in Australia, the description for the official trailer (also below) states that the registration is open to the region of Oceania. This includes New Zealand, Micronesia, The Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Palau, and Fiji.
Talion is set for an Oceania launch sometime late January on android devices.
Author’s Take: The advertising is targetting an Australian audience. Oh hey, that’s me! I play too many mobile games already, so it might be worth giving a shot.
