Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Gets Global Release Date and Producer Promises New Tales of Title in Development
Bandai Namco posted on their official Twitter a video of Tales of series producer Yusuke Tomizawa with information regarding Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition and the future of the Tales of series.
First off, Tomizawa-san announces that Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition will launch worldwide on January 11, 2019, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The producer goes on to say that he is sorry that they weren’t able to bring this version of the game to PlayStation 3, a version that was exclusive to Japan which added gameplay improvements.
Additionally, Tomizawa-san states that the company is currently working on a new Tales of series title, but can’t reveal much information about the game at this time. He also mentions that as the new producer of the game, he takes full responsibility for spreading the numbered Tales of titles “all over the world”. Before, Tomizawa-san was the general producer on the God Eater series.
The publisher recently showed new Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition gameplay during Anime Expo 2018 in July.

Author’s take: As a huge fan of the Tales of series, I’m glad to see them returning to one of the best in the series before they move on and make a new entry. The latest entry, Tales of Berseria, showed that the company can still create unique and interesting characters and stories within this series. I’m excited to see what they have been working on.
