Bandai Namco have announced that they will be hosting the “Tales of Series 25th Anniversary Special Live Stream” on December 15 at 20:00 JST/ 6:00 AM EST/ 3:00 AM PT. Links for the live stream will be available at a later date.
The live stream will showcase a large variety of Tales of material such as information on 25th anniversary series merchandise, game development anecdotes and more. There will also be a special performance by some composers and music artists. You can take a look at the live stream’s details here. Aside from the series creators, some rather notable individuals are appearing at this event, with one of the most remarkable being Motoi Sakuraba, an exceedingly well known composer across the video game industry, obviously including Tales of. Composer Go Shiina will be making an appearance as well. While he did leave Bandai Namco back in 2017, his involvement with them is not entirely out of left field due to history with the series and feasible collaboration via freelance work.
Junko Iwao, the Japanese voice actress for Mint Adnade from Tales of Phantasia, Chihiro Suzuki, the Japanese voice actor for Luke fon Fabre from Tales of the Abyss and Kouhei Amasaki, the Japanese voice actor for Kanata Hjuger from Tales of Crestoria will also be making appearances.
Personally speaking, while not exactly likely, I am desperately hoping for some sort of news on Tales of Arise. The title received a delay earlier this year and while that is completely understandable, the complete silence on this game has me slightly concerned. Regardless however, it’s best to try to temper expectations from this live stream because as they say, expectation leads to disappointment. Hopefully we all get flabbergasted and amazed, but for now, we will simply have to wait and see.
