To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Bandai Namco-developed action JRPG Tales of Destiny 2, the company has announced a brand new 1/7 scale figure depicting one of the game’s main characters, Reala. Additionally, the product’s pose is based on an illustration by Mutsumi Inomata.
You can view this artwork by Inomata below:
No information was stated regarding potential availability or pricing for the figure, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated. For now, you can view Inomata’s illustration of Reala and photos of the figure’s prototype state below:
UPDATE 2/11/2023: The fully colored version of the figure has been revealed:
Tales of Destiny 2 has, unfortunately, never received an English release across both its PlayStation 2 and PSP releases. To be honest, I’d much rather have a port of both Tales of Destiny games on modern platforms rather than yet another port of Symphonia, but I’m sure that’s just preaching to the choir. Regardless, we can only hope that the Destiny duology is treated justly.
Though, it is worth pointing out that a fan team named Lumina Tales is working on an ambitious fan translation for Tales of Destiny 2, with significant progress having been made.
In other Tales of news, the Tales of Crestoria manga is launching next year.
Tales of Symphonia Remastered will launch Westward for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on February 17, 2023.
Tales of Symphonia was initially released for the Gamecube worldwide before receiving a Japanese-exclusive PlayStation 2 version that added more content. That same version would launch worldwide for PlayStation 3 and then eventually PC via Steam. This upcoming remaster is using the latest versions as the basis, though several new features are arriving, such as skippable events and improved maritime navigation.
