Tales of Arise Receiving ‘Easiest’ and ‘Unknown’ Difficulties in Free Update This Week
During the dedicated Tales of Arise Tokyo Game Show 2021 live stream from Bandai Namco, the company announced that the title will be receiving a free DLC update later this week that will grant the ‘Easiest’ and ‘Unknown’ difficulty settings. It is worth noting that this news has only been announced in Japan, but this update will more than likely be added to the other regions the game has been released.
The Easiest difficulty is described as being even more approachable than the Story difficulty currently available. It seems to cater to those who have no desire to partake in the intricacies of combat. Unknown difficulty, on the other hand, is even more arduous than the currently provided Chaos difficulty and is for those who yearn for a supreme challenge. Thus, unknown seems ideal to test out via New Game Plus or the like.
Alongside that news, new cosmetic items and Training Ground battles were also announced. Credit to Abyssal Chronicle for catching all of this information because I completely missed it in the midst of this lengthy stream.
This DLC will be added on October 7, 2021.

Tales of Arise advances the graphics with this new “Atmospheric Shader,” which is meant to present the world as if it were a hand-drawn painting. Further, the combat has evolved, allowing for a better sense of spectacle and direct player feedback based upon their actions. Finally, the graphics, combat system, characters, and story combine to present a vivid and realized world that the developer hopes will immerse players.
Tales of Arise has launched worldwide on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
