Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn Details Rebuilding Quests

Outlet Dengeki recently interviewed the development team of Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn, discussing what players can expect from this expansion. One such exchange detailed the Rebuilding Quests that will occur throughout the world.

You can view a translation of this question and response via our team’s Ryuji:

Interviewer: What are these “Rebuilding Quests” we can expect to see in the game?

In Rebuilding Quests, Alphen and his party will receive various reconstruction sub-quests from the residents of each town. By completing them all, you will receive rewards from the residents and expand the inventory of items in the general store. Furthermore, the appearance of some towns may change as new subquests arise.

Still, even if the appearance of a town does not change much, you will be able to sense the change in the hearts and minds of the residents as well as a sense of future development. Of course, each town has its own share of problems, so what sort of trouble they’re facing varies. We hope that you will travel around the new world with Alphen and his friends and actively seek out the Rebuilding Quests.

Based on the wording here, it’s safe to assume that familiar NPCs from the base game will have new dialogue based on quest completion.

Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn is a story set one year after the ending of Tales of Arise. Alphen, Shionne, and the rest of the party meet a new character by the name of Nazamil, a misfortunate young girl who is the daughter of a Renan lord and a Dahnan slave. Players can anticipate over 20 hours of content, with new dungeons, costumes, sidequests, and boss battles.

Regarding carry-over boons, players will be rewarded various bonuses dependent on their achievement progress in the main game. But you will still be able to play Beyond the Dawn even if you haven’t yet beaten Tales of Arise, even though you’ll need the base game to even play this content in the first place. Characters will also start at predetermined levels in this expansion for balancing reasons.

Tales of Arise Beyond the Dawn will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on November 9, 2023.

Tales of Arise is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.

We discussed the number of Tales of games that have never been localized and those that have never been ported, making most of the franchise notably inaccessible to contemporary audiences.
