Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! and Drum ‘n’ Fun Brings Drumming Action to the West This Fall for PS4 and Switch

Bandai Namco announced that the drumming rhythm titles Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session!  and Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun will finally make its way to North America and Europe on November 2 for PlayStation 4 andNintendo Switch, respectively.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum Session! on PS4 will take the classic arcade rhythm game that has eluded western arcades for years and bring it to the player’s home. A variety of songs will be included so players can be able to practice their skills over multiple modes.

The game will include co-op and versus mode as well as online modes where players can play against the ghost data of their friends. Also, this version of the game will contain over 70 songs and in-game unlockable content.

Next up, Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun will be pretty much the same game as Drum Session!, but the game contains new crossover characters such as Kirby and Splatoon 2’s Squid. Additionally, players will be able to use the Switch Joy Con controllers to motion actual drum movements. The game will also support up to 4 player modes.

Now check out some screenshots from both titles below along with the western trailer:

Author’s take: Every so often I find an arcade with one of these Taiko no Tatsujin machines in them and I watch some kid racking up an unbelievable scorn. Sure it’s an easy concept, hit the drum on time, but everytime I try I end up embarrassing myself. Still, it’s a load of fun and I can’t wait to play the console release and “get good”.
