Tactical RPG ‘Warborn’ Reveals PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC Release Date and Physical Edition in New Trailer
PQube announced that the Raredrop Games-developed turn-based tactical RPG Warborn will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 12, with a physical release on consoles.
Warborn has players assemble and command an army of units who wear protective suits known as Variable Armour. These suits allow the units to have access to special abilities and skills in a range of environments, including outer space. Gameplay has players taking turns and strategically moving units across a map to take out enemies. They’ll have to carefully place their team to watch out for enemy flakes and any other surprise combat maneuvers from enemies.
The publisher released a new trailer showing gameplay, which takes inspiration from ’90s anime. Players can get a preview of the combat turns and how certain units match up. The maps are divided into hexagon spaces that allow players to move around the map to line up their attacks. Environments also have objects like buildings and trees that can seemingly provide cover to units as well.
Warborn’s story takes place in another universe where political uncertainty reigns and the line of right and wrong is thin. Players will set out on a mission to liberate the Auros system from galactic tyranny across a story campaign of 10 missions.
We’ll be sure to keep you up-to-date on all the future details for Warborn, for now, you can watch the new gameplay trailer below:
