Action Roguelike ‘Sword of the Necromancer’ Gets Final Dev Diary Before Launch

JanduSoft and Grimorio of Games have released their final developer diary video ahead of the release of Sword of the Necromancer.

The video highlights the inspirations behind the adventure and the lore of their idea behind the monster summoning systems. Each video takes players through the game’s various systems and gameplay features as the team presents them in detail.

Sword of the Necromancer is a dungeon-crawler RPG with roguelike systems where you can revive fallen enemies and have them fight alongside you. The gameloop of turning foes into allies and using other magical abilities will help the main character, Tama, bring back the priestess, Koko, from the dead. However, that can only happen after she survives the dangerous dungeons.

Each attempt through the dungeon will get her a little closer to her goal. Players will lose all their equipped weapons and monsters after dying but will retain part of their level. The deeper you get, the more memories you’ll unlock. However, players don’t have to go alone as using the Flask of Homunculus will create a copy of themselves for a friend to play in a local co-op mode.

Sword of the Necromancer is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on January 28.
