Fantasy Tactical RPG ‘Sword of Convallaria’ Revealed for PC & Mobile; Releasing Fall 2023

Publisher XD Games and developer Guo have announced their upcoming tactical fantasy RPG Sword of Convallaria, planned to launch for PC via Steam and mobile devices via iOS and Android in Fall 2023.

This title occurs on the continent of Rodinia, and the protagonist arrives in the nation of Iria, known for being “rich in magical Luxite minerals.” However, you awaken from a dungeon and escape to the titular Convallaria, a town facing danger from Iria’s conflicts. So, to ultimately achieve peace for this haven, you lead the Sword of Convallaria Mercenary Group to cease hostilities.

Players will be able to recruit companions, teach skills, forge equipment, research technology, and take on missions given by different factions. In combat, terrain is especially crucial to consider as it can impart benefits or detriments depending on its contextual utilization. The game also already features “300 maps and 1,000 stages with multiple endings for players to unlock, based on the choices you make.”

The game’s name was chosen because it “evokes the beauty and transience of peace, as well as the weapons used to protect it.” Yasumi Matsuno from Final Fantasy Tactics and Ogre Tactics has also expressed intrigue in the project.
