Sword Art Online: Last Recollection Gets October Release Date in Opening Video
Bandai Namco announced their upcoming action RPG Sword Art Online: Last Recollection will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam on October 6, 2023.
The story of Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is based on the War of Underworld arc. The story adds some original beats, but players will fight to uncover the truth about the Dark Knight and take down many new enemies throughout the Dark Territory. Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is set in an alternate universe that explores what would have happened if Eugeo didn’t get a Game Over in The War of the Underworld.
Given this is a game that celebrates that series’ 10th Anniversary, there’s a push to include as many characters as possible from the previous anime arcs.
Kirito, Eugeo, and their allies didn’t meet their tragic end in The War of the Underworld.
Sword Art Online: Last Recollection will allow players to play through the campaign in single-player, but there are multiplayer options for up to 4 players online. A new battle system has been implemented that highlights fast action and strategic abilities.
