Sword Art Online: Last Recollection Trailers Highlight Character Specific Weapons and Story Details

Bandai Namco released new videos showing off their upcoming action RPG Sword Art Online: Last Recollection coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam on October 6, 2023.

The trailers highlight weapons and story details. The weapon trailer goes over each character to show how their loadout gives them a unique edge over fights. Further, the story trailer, which is currently only in Japanese, gives players a look at some of the cinematics of the game, including which story arcs it will adapt. Still, there are some original story elements found in the adventure.

The story of Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is based on the War of Underworld arc. The story adds some original beats, but players will fight to uncover the truth about the Dark Knight and take down many new enemies throughout the Dark Territory. Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is set in an alternate universe that explores what would have happened if Eugeo didn’t get a Game Over in The War of the Underworld.

Sword Art Online: Last Recollection will allow players to play through the campaign in single-player, but there are multiplayer options for up to 4 players online. A new battle system has been implemented that highlights fast action and strategic abilities.
