Sword Art Online: Last Recollection Reveals Japan Limited Editions

The official Japanese website of Bandai Namco’s Sword Art Online: Last Recollection has just been updated to include three new special editions that will be released in Japan at the same time as the game’s launch. Whether these versions will be coming West remains unknown as of the time of writing.

First, we have the Last Recollection Edition, which includes the following:

• Special case containing 2 CDs: The Original Soundtrack CD and the Original Drama CD
• Special Booklet (Dengeki NerveGear Vol. 07)
• Acrylic Board containing art newly illustrated by abec
• Physical copy of the game (PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 only)

The second edition is the 10th Anniversary Memorial Box. Available for  which alongside the items included in the Last Recollection Edition, it also features additional merchandise, such as:

• 10th Anniversary Memorial T-Shirt illustrated by abec
• Character Acrylic Standees
• Special Framed Artwork by abec
• Download code: Sword Art Online Last Recollection Premiere Pass and SAO Battle BGM DLC

Lastly, we have the likely Japan-exclusive Dengeki Special Edition, which will include the following:

• 3D Crystal
• B2 tapestry with a newly drawn illustration exclusive to this package
• Desk mat featuring a key visual by abec
• Stainless steel tumbler cup

The story of Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is based on the War of Underworld arc. The narrative adds some original beats, but players will fight to uncover the truth about the Dark Knight and take down many new enemies throughout the Dark Territory. Sword Art Online: Last Recollection is set in an alternate universe that explores what would have happened if Eugeo didn’t get a Game Over in The War of the Underworld.

Sword Art Online: Last Recollection will allow players to play through the campaign in single-player, but there are multiplayer options for up to 4 players online. A new battle system has been implemented that highlights fast action and strategic abilities.
