Action RPG ‘Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris’ Receives Western Release Date for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Bandai Namco announced that their action RPG Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam on May 22, 2020. This announcement is by way of their Brazillion YouTube channel.

Along with the announcement, the new trailer shows an extended story scene where Kirito faces off against a formidable opponent. Following the scene, players are treated to a preview of the environments and battle system featured in the game. This entry in the video game franchise is more action-focused as compared to the MMORPG style gameplay found in previous titles.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris begins with Kirito entering a mysterious new world known as the Underworld. In this place, NPCs behave more like humans. As Kirito, players will be able to experience the scenes from the anime arc where Kirito encounters Eugeo, Alice, Administrator, and other characters.

The game will be an accurate retelling of the anime series. During the game, Kirito will find himself in the “Underworld”, a mysterious virtual world that is established during the Alicization arc from the anime. The game will feature memorable battles and an expansive world to explore as Kirito fights through this new adventure.
