Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Details Post-Launch Updates and Introduces Characters in New Story Trailer

Bandai Namco released a new trailer for their action RPG Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC-via Steam on May 22, 2020.

The story highlights the story of the game, which follows moments of the anime and features some of the more emotional and impactful moments of the story’s arc. Additionally, those who pre-order will receive 4 costumes that were designed by fans. There is also a Deluxe Edition available, which includes the Premium Pass and 200 SAO Coins.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will also have post-launch updates. Each month players will find Monthly Raids and Daily Quests. By completing these, players can acquire tickets to exchange for CUBEs. CUBEs open up the possibility for players to randomly win in-game costumes, accessories, and weapon skins, for their characters. If players log on daily and complete each daily quest, they can obtain all the CUBE items. Lastly, there is an in-game currency known as SAO Coins, which allows players to purchase items forms the CUBE, to get the item more easily.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris begins with Kirito entering a mysterious new world known as the Underworld. In this place, NPCs behave more like humans. As Kirito, players will be able to experience the scenes from the anime arc where Kirito encounters Eugeo, Alice, Administrator, and other characters.

The game will be an accurate retelling of the anime series. During the game, Kirito will find himself in the “Underworld”, a mysterious virtual world that is established during the Alicization arc from the anime. The game will feature memorable battles and an expansive world to explore as Kirito fights through this new adventure.
