Yen Press has posted their newest audiobook, Sword Art Online 2: Aincrad, available now for fans to pick up and listen to while they go about their life.
Unlike the original light novel released in 2014, the audiobook gives readers the freedom to experience the source material of this long-running franchise without having to spend their evening reading words. We’re sorry to light novel readers everywhere, I’ve read quite a few this year, but the audiobook experience is taking over.
Yen Press is going all out for this release by having Bryce Papenbrook (also known as the voice of Kirito) and Cherami Leigh (Asuna’s incredible VA) on the tracks reading to the listeners for a true experience.
The story is described as:
Linked up and logged into the deadly VMMORPG Sword Art Online in both the real and virtual worlds, Kirito is stuck in a hell of one man’s making and, like everyone else, unable to escape until the game is beaten. But while some players are crippled by fear and others throw themselves into completing the game, still others relax into everyday life in the face of their cruel predicament and live to the best of their ability…laughing, crying, but always enjoying the game. Among them are four women who make a mark upon the solo adventurer that Kirito has become: Silica, the beast-tamer; Lisbeth, the blacksmith; Yui, the mysterious orphan; and the tragic Sachi, never to be forgotten by the black swordsman….
We’ll keep you updated on future releases from Yen On and other audiobooks shared.
