Swashbuckling Action-Adventure ‘En Garde!’ Now Available on PC; Launch Trailer

Indie French studio Fireplace Games announced their action-adventure game, En Garde! is now available on PC via Steam for 19.99€/$19.99. Prospective players can purchase the game at a 10% discount until August 23, 2023. Alternatively, there is stated to be a separate purchase option, including the game’s soundtrack for 24.99€/$24.99.

Protagonist Adalia de Volador is a swashbuckling hero during the 17th century who challenges the tyranny of Count-Duke. Combat features parries and ripostes, encouraging players to adapt as they learn enemy weaknesses and movements. Additionally, adequate environmental usage is imperative, as it can be utilized to stun or evade foes. Comedic writing and hand-painted environments are also stated to be at the forefront of this experience.

Moreover, alongside story episodes, players can challenge themselves in Arena Mode, where they’ll have to find creative ways of dealing with enemies with unique modifiers.

It’s worth noting that the independent gaming fund Kowloon Nights, known for being behind Sifu, Tchia, Scorn, and Roller Drome, is behind En Garde!

Fireplace Games previously launched a free demo for the game, available on Steam. Over 50,000 players experienced it across two weeks, too.
