Survival Adventure ‘Grounded’ Gets New Trailer Detailing Story, Confirms Release Date
In April’s Inside Xbox, a new trailer for Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming survival adventure game Grounded was shown, detailing the game’s story and giving a release date.
The trailer feature a mustachioed rainbow robot informing the player that they have been shrunken down and are “very, very, very small.” The only machine that is capable of returning you to your normal size has been destroyed, and everything in the backyard wants to eat you. To survive the mundane-backyard-turned-deadly-jungle, you must build a base, weapons, and armor out of grass, dirt, and sticks.
In addition to everyday nature, some “strange things” can also be found in the backyard that may help players return to their normal size. Who put them there is unknown, but the robot does not that, “they’re watching.”
The story trailer finished by revealing that Grounded will be coming to Xbox Game Preview and Game Pass on Xbox on July 29. It will also be released on Xbox Game Pass PC and Steam Early Access.
Grounded was first announced back in November at X019. The game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the team behind Third Person Shooter/RPGs Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds, so this is the first time the team has ventured into the survival genre.
