Super Robot Wars 30 Reveals December DLC Pack With Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans, Ultraman and Ultraseven
Bandai Namco has revealed the content that will be available on the second DLC pack for Super Robot Wars 30. The strategy game is coming out on October 28, with English versions for Switch, PS4 and PC -via Steam-. While the former two are Asian English releases, the Steam version of the game will be available worldwide. The DLC 2 pack will add nine new playable units and its release is planned for December.
Super Robot Wars is a long-running mecha crossover franchise and, though most of its titles were only released in Japan, it has been getting Asian English releases in the last few years. The new game is a celebration of the 30 years of the tactical games bringing with it a big list of mecha series, such as multiple Gundams, Mazinger, Code Geass, SSSS.Gridman and even not so popular titles such as Gun x Sword and Knight’s & Magic.
Players who buy the Deluxe Edition or the Ultimate Edition will have access to the season pass, which includes two packs of DLC, each with 9 playable units and 13 additional missions. It’ll also be possible to buy them separately. The DLC 1 will include Sakura Wars units, as well as Voltes V and two Super Robot Wars OG characters. You can check the full list here.
Now Bandai Namco has revealed the series that will be represented on DLC 2. First of all, it’ll include units from Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans. The new video reveals Mikazuki Augus with the final form of his mobile suit, the Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex. Another character included is Akihiko Altland, who commands the unit Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City, which is also the last form of his suit seen in the second season of the anime.
Though they aren’t shown on the new video, two other units from Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans will also be available through the DLC. One of them is Gundam Flauros, which was piloted by Norba Shino in the anime series. The other is the legendary Gundam Bael, which was originally piloted by the founder of Gjallahorn, Agnika Kaieru, during the Calamity War. Its reactivation was a major plot point of the anime series.
From the Super Robot Wars OG series come Kyousuke Nanbu with his Alteisen Riese, as well as his girlfriend Excellen Browning with the Rein Weissenreitter. Both characters were part of the very first Super Robot Wars to come west, the GBA game Super Robot Wars Original Generation. They were also present in many other games in the franchise, so the franchise fans are likely to enjoy playing with them again.
The classic tokusatsu franchise Ultraman will also be represented. Three units will be available in the DLC 2: the classic Ultraman from 1966, Ultraseven and Ultraman Ace. It’s possible to see their classic moves in the video with high quality animations.
