Idea Factory International gives new details for the Artisan Studio developed RPG Super Neptunia RPG, coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in the west on June 25 and on PC-via-Steam on June 20.
The publisher released new CG event scenes and dialogue scenes from the game. The scenes give players a preview of the game’s CG events that players will encounter throughout the story. However, it’s been previously announced that the PlayStation 4 version of the game will contain altered scenes in the west, but the PC release will include unedited content.
Co-founder and Game Director of Artisan Studios Julien Bourgeois gave more details about the game via the PlayStation Blog saying it was challenging for them at first to translate the 3D series into a 2D world. With that said, the developer did everything they could to be faithful to Compile Heart’s vision of the Neptunia. This brought the developer to create a base pose for the character’s and all other poses being various versions of that pose. The post also details the time the team put into creating the rest of the world and characters.
Super Neptunia RPG allows players to assume the role of Neptune, Noir, Blanc, and Vert in an all new side-scrolling adventure, developed by a western studio for the first time. The gang of goddesses finds themselves in a new world owned by an organization called “Silkworm” which evidently worships 2D games. The people of this world are forced to create 2D games and pay taxes in the form of game cassettes. In the event that they produce poor quality games, the citizen will have their spirit destroyed.
