Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD Reveals Sonic as Playable Character
Sega released new details their monkey rolling puzzle game Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 29 and a PC-via Steam release in winter 2019.
Players who want to roll faster can do so with the new playable character Sonic the Hedgehog. Yes, that’s right, the blue blur can be unlocked while playing through the main mode of the game. He has a really high stop speed and while playing as him Sonic automatically changes all of the bananas in a stage to golden rings.

Originally released on Nintendo Wii in 2006, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD will bring all the chaotic puzzle rolling gameplay to modern consoles. The game will have updated graphics and optimized controls for each platform. Additionally, there will be a brand-new mini-game called Decathalon mode where players will need to complete a set of 10 mini-games in a row along with online leaderboards. The original game has 100 single-player stages which are all available in this release along with the additional modes.
