Super Meat Boy Forever Coming as a Console Launch Exclusive For Nintendo Switch Later This Month

Team Meat has announced that their upcoming, highly anticipated hardcore platformer sequel, Super Meat Boy Forever, is launching for Nintendo Switch on December 23, exactly a week from now.

This title is a console launch exclusive for Nintendo Switch as well. Just like the original, hit title, players will have to traverse a series of incredibly challenging levels while combing said levels to find secrets.

Team Meat co-founder and programmer, Tommy Refenes, had this to say regarding this upcoming title’s release:

“Super Meat Boy was a massive success that changed my life forever and people had been clamoring for a sequel for ages. But I didn’t just want to deliver more of the same and call it a day. Meat Boy deserved more than that. I wanted to rebuild Meat Boy from the ground up, in a way that would offer an entirely new experience that still hits all the same kinetic, addictive notes as its predecessor. I know Super Meat Boy Forever took forever to make but we’re confident that it was worth the wait.”

In order to commemorate this title’s release, there is an officially licensed Enhanced Wireless Controller featuring Meat Boy, made for Nintendo Switch. This controller is priced at $49.99 / £39.99 / €49.99 and is currently available for pre-order at PowerA. It will also be available for pre-order via Amazon on December 16.

Super Meat Boy Forever will also be launching for the Epic Games Store on December 23. There is currently a 10% pre-order discount, temporarily pricing the title at $17.99.
