Super Meat Boy Forever Announced For Mobile in New Surreal Trailer, 2022 Release

Publisher Thunderful Games has announced that the Team Meat-developed Super Meat Boy Forever will be arriving on mobile devices in 2022. This title is the direct sequel to the beloved cult classic Super Meat Boy, though the gameplay style presented here is fundamentally different. While the original game consisted of a series of brutally difficult stages to overcome after severe trial and error, this sequel is an auto-runner utilizing over 7,200 unique levels.

Back when this sequel was announced for the Switch, Team Meat co-founder and programmer Tommy Refenes provided the following comment:

Super Meat Boy was a massive success that changed my life forever and people had been clamoring for a sequel for ages. But I didn’t just want to deliver more of the same and call it a day. Meat Boy deserved more than that. I wanted to rebuild Meat Boy from the ground up, in a way that would offer an entirely new experience that still hits all the same kinetic, addictive notes as its predecessor. I know Super Meat Boy Forever took forever to make but we’re confident that it was worth the wait.”

The trailer is pretty weird but endearing in a way only Super Meat Boy can be.
